Q: 1. What is a 'Picture Release Form' and what is its purpose?
A: A 'Picture Release Form' will be e-mailed to you each and every time one of your images is in the process of being sold. This e-mail will contain all the information pertaining to the photo being sold, including an attachment of the image. If you agree with all the terms and price, you simply click on 'Agree' and reply to the e-mail. This gives us permission to release your image to the purchasing client. We will then send you a royalty check or international money order on the 10th of the following month.
If you disagree with any of the terms or price, we will cancel the picture sale and another picture will be selected for the client to purchase.
Q: 2. Are tax forms mailed out to photographers at the end of the year?
A: No. Since you are not a direct employee of Picture Stock, we do not issue any tax forms. We do, however, encourage all photographers to keep their royalty check/money order statements in a folder so you can report your earned income when filing your tax returns. We do not report any royalty payments to anyone at anytime. It is solely up to each photographer to do so.
Q: 3. Can I have the phone numbers, e-mail addresses or mailing addresses to a few of your photographers?
Q: 4. How do you keep in contact with your photographers?
A: We believe every successful stock agency should keep in contact with their photographers. We send out an electronic newsletter via e-mail to our photographers and customers about four times a year (one per season) free of charge. Also, every photographer will always be sent a 'Picture Release Form' each and every time one of his or her pictures is in the process of being sold via e-mail. Occasionally, Picture Stock may mail out offers or advise our photographers and customers of any special offers, promotions or contests by regular air mail.
Q: 5. Can I have my images removed from your files and your affiliates at any time? Is there a fee involved?
A: You must send us a letter of cancellation by regular mail or e-mail. If you are sending your request by e-mail, your return e-mail address must match what we have on file for you. Please allow up to 90 days before all your images are removed and deleted from all files worldwide. There is no fee to cancel your account. Any fees paid to Picture Stock will not be reimbursed or refunded.
Q: 6. Can I still do business with you if I do not have a valid e-mail address?
A: No. A valid e-mail address is required since all communication from Picture Stock is done through e-mail. You can sign up for a free e-mail address through several companies. Simply do a search on the Internet for 'Free E-mail Address' and select a company that best suits you.
Q: 7. What is the best way to get in touch with your Customer Service Department if I have a question or concern not listed in your FAQ section?
A: Please send an e-mail to our 'Customer Care Center' through our 'Contact Us' page if you have any questions or concerns not listed on our web site or listed in our 'FAQ' section. Our E-mail Support Staff are on duty 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Most e-mail is answered the same day and in many cases within hours. About 98% of our customers prefer to communicate with us via e-mail. Furthermore, because we have customers in more than 60 countries worldwide, we do not have any problems with time zones. Our call center is open during regular business hours Monday - Friday however; a return call can take 1-3 business days from one of our representatives.
Q: 8. What is the CVN - Cardholder Verification Number when I enter my credit card number on the Image Submission & Order Form?
A: All credit cards have a Cardholder Verification Number (CVN). For Visa,
MasterCard and Discover cards, it is a three digit number appearing on the
back in or immediately above the signature panel. For American Express, it
is a four digit number appearing on the front of the card, above the
embossed card number. This number is mandatory in order to process your
credit card order since we cannot actually see your credit card in person.
This number verifies that this card actually belongs to you. It is a
security feature that was implemented by your bank to protect you and avoid
credit card fraud.
