Q: How will my images be sold and promoted to the worldwide market?

A: Picture Stock is affiliated with a network of 53 agencies around the world that sell the images we collect. Your images may be displayed on web sites, catalogs, CD's and distributed to clients who purchase stock photography on a regular basis. Some of our affiliates have catalog print runs in excess of 100,000 copies and are mailed out twice a year by most agencies.

Q: How long have you been in business and are you members of the Better Business Bureau?

A: Picture Stock has been in business since January 1997 and we are proud members in good standing with the Better Business Bureau. Picture Stock is a member of the 'BBB Online Reliability Program' (visit our home page and click on the 'BBB Seal' for more information).

Q: Are you a member of PACA (Picture Agency Council of America)?

A: No. Since Picture Stock is a picture collection and distribution agency only, we cannot be members of PACA. We do not sell the images we collect here directly to buyers. Instead, all pictures are sold through our network of 53 sales affiliates (stock agencies). Most of the agencies that sell our images are members of PACA.

Q: Do you cater to professional photographers only?

A: No, we cater to photographers of all levels. Professionals, amateurs and hobbyists use Picture Stock as their picture distribution agent.

Q: I am really skeptical about sending my images to an agency I have never heard of before. How can you assure me that you are a legitimate picture agency?

A: If our excellent reputation, honesty, integrity and proven track record are not enough to convince you, then simply call or e-mail us with any questions or concerns you may have. One of our associates will be more than happy to assist you. We have been in business since January 1997 and are members in good standing with the Better Business Bureau. We want you to feel absolutely comfortable before conducting business with us. If you want to test the waters and try us out on a trial basis, simply send in the minimum picture submission requirement of 25 of your best images to see how they sell on the worldwide market. This way, you can see for yourself exactly how we do business. You will need to download a FREE 'Photographers Registration & Welcome Kit' from our web site first. We are quite confident you will not be disappointed with our agency. Keep in mind that more than half of our photographers were referred to us from existing photographers.

Q: How many agencies is Picture Stock affiliated with and where are your sales offices located?

A: Picture Stock is affiliated with 53 picture agencies.

Our North American and worldwide affiliated sales offices are located in: Athens, Bangkok, Boston, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Calcutta, Cairo, Chicago, Copenhagen, Dallas, Detroit, Guatemala City, Hong Kong, Islamabad, Istanbul, Jakarta, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Manila, Mexico City, Miami, New Delhi, New York City (13), Palo Alto, Paris, Porto, Rome, San Francisco, Santiago, Sao Paolo, Seattle, Seoul, Shanghai, Sofia, South Africa, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo, Toronto and Warsaw.

These offices are picture sales offices only and photographers are not permitted to contact these offices to submit their images or to ask any questions. All picture submissions and correspondence must be done directly through Picture Stock only.

Q: Can photographers speak with the photo editors directly?

A: Our photo editors are extremely busy looking through thousands of images every day.
Unfortunately, our photo editors prefer correspondence via e-mail where they can answer your questions when time permits them to do so. Use our 'Contact Us' page to send an e-mail directly to one of our photo editors.

Q: Can I have the names and addresses of clients who buy stock photography through your affiliated agencies?

A: It would obviously not be in our best interest to provide this information. We definitely would not want photographers contacting our clients directly and selling their images at reduced prices, thus, costing us and our affiliated agencies sales and commissions.

In general, our images are used in newspapers, magazines, brochures, web sites, postcards, calendars, billboards, television, product packages, marketing, advertising, transit shelters and other media sources.

Q: Can I contact the agencies that Picture Stock is affiliated with?

A: No. Our agencies prefer not to work with photographers directly and this is why they have hired Picture Stock to collect images on their behalf. We have strict guidelines in our contracts with these agencies that do not permit us to make these agencies available to photographers. All enquiries are handled through the Picture Stock offices.

Q: I live in Canada. Can I pay in Canadian funds?

A: No. All fees must be paid in US funds since all commissions are paid in US funds.

Q: How do I apply for a job at Picture Stock?

A: If you are interested in a career with our agency, send us your resume by mail or fax along with a cover letter indicating the position you are looking for as well as your salary expectations. Our address and fax number is located in the 'Contact Us' section of our web site. Only those applicants that qualify for an interview will be contacted. Applications are kept on file for six months.
